Documents required for Thailand Digital Arrival Card application:
The procedure to get your Thailand visa is quite straightforward, and at Oxford Travels we ensure a smooth process. We have put together Thailand visa requirements for Indian citizens to make the process more convenient. Listed below are the documents you need to have ready for verification.

  1. Scanned colour copy of the first and last page of your passport. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of return in India, with a minimum of two blank pages
  2. Scanned colour copy of your confirmed return air tickets
  3. Scanned colour copy of your confirm hotel booking mentioning the details of travel, details of the traveller, and contact details of the hotel                                                                      
All passengers are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card. Please note that this card is valid for one-time use only and does not serve as a visa.

Submission Deadline:                                                                                              
  • The arrival card must be submitted at least 3 days prior to your date of arrival in Thailand, including the arrival date

Thailand Visa Processing Time
  • Every type of Thailand visa for Indians has a certain standard processing time as per the category of the visa. As such, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card for Indians typically takes around 1-2 working days.
Important Notes
  • We do not provide Thailand work / job / employment visas.
  • If you are planning a holiday to Thailand, a TDAC or business visa that is valid for 30 days will allow you to enter the country only once.
  • The processing time for a Thailand TDAC is approximately 24 working hours and should be applied for only within 3 days prior to the travel date, including the date of travel.
  • The visa-on-arrival process involves approximately 3-6 hours of wait time at the airport, post-arrival. We recommend that you get your Thailand Visa on arrival from India before you travel, to avoid last-minute hassles.
       To avail of the Thailand E-Visa, the port of entry in Thailand should be from the below airports only:
  • Suvarnabhumi International Airport
  • Don Mueang International Airport
  • Chiang Mai International Airport
  • Phuket International Airport

Thailand Visa Rejection Possibilities:

  • Your Thailand visa free for Indian can be rejected by Thailand visa authorities for certain reasons. Let us explore the same to make sure your application goes through the due diligence of the visa application requirements.

  • Incomplete or Incorrect Documentation: Thai entry visa for Indians can get rejected if the visa form is incomplete or missing crucial documents or if there are errors in the documents.
  • Insufficient Funds: If a candidate fails to show financial stability to sustain his/her journey in Thailand, then this can lead to rejection of a visa Thailand for Indian.
  • Lack of Genuine Visitor Intent: A visa officer can reject the application if they think the individual lacks genuine intent to come back to his home country and might overstay in Thailand.
  • Failure to Meet Health/Character Requirements: Failure to meet health requirements set by the immigration office or having a criminal record can also be the reason for the rejection of a Thailand visa for Indians.
  • Previous Visa Violations: Overstaying in Thailand on previous accounts or in any other country can also be the grounds for rejection of visa Thailand for Indian.

Documents required for Thailand visa application

Thailand Tourist Visa:
  1. Passport: Original Passport with 2 blank pages and valid for minimum six months at time of travel

  2. Visa application form: A Visa Application Form that is completely filled and signed by the Applicant. (Use only one pen to fill the form; overwriting /using whitener is not allowed)

  3. Coloured photograph: Two matt-finished, coloured photographs with white background. It should be an 80% face close up and 35mm x 45mm in size. The photograph should not be older than 3 months. (Tip – Do not wear white-coloured clothes while clicking the photo).

  4. Cover letter: From the applicant on the Plain paper stating applicant’s name, designation, passport number, purpose and duration of visit. The letter should be duly signed by the applicant..Accommodation address should be mentioned on covering letter.

  5. Travel bookings: Confirmed air tickets or booking of air tickets of onward and return

  6. Accommodation: Proof of Hotel / accommodation, reservation in Thailand with contact number and address of accommodation.

  7. Financial documents: 06 months Bank Statement with funds not less than 60,000/- INR maintained THROUGHT 06 months with original seal and signature from authorized person of bank.

  8. Other mandatory documents: Contact/Mobile number of the applicant

  9. Digital Arrival Card.

Note: 1. Photograph should be in dark colour clothes

3 Balance available in account should be per person . 
4. Cover letter should be address To the visa officer, royal Thai consulate-general Mumbai                                        

Documents required for Thailand visa application

Thailand Business Visa: 
  1. Passport: Original passport with 2 blank pages and validity of atleast 6 months from the date of travel..Should have 2 opposite blank pages.

  2. Visa application form: A Visa Application Form that is completely filled and signed by the Applicant. (Use only one pen to fill the form; overwriting /using whitener is not allowed)

  3. Coloured photograph: 2 Passport size colour Photograph 35mm x 45 mm white background and 80% face cover

  4. Cover letter: Letter from the company on the letter head stating the applicant’s name, designation, passport number, purpose and duration of visit duly signed and sealed along with the name and designation of the signatory.

  5. Invitation letter: from the inviting company stating the purpose and duration of stay duly signed along with the signatory’s name and designation and company stamp.

  6. Travel bookings: Confirmed air tickets or booking of air tickets of onward and return

  7. Accommodation: Proof of reservation of hotel or any other accommodation for the intended stay.

  8. Financial documents: Income tax return for last 3 years .Pay slip for last 3 months.06 months Bank Statement with funds not less than 60,000/- INR maintained THROUGHT 06 months with original seal and signature from authorized person of bank

Note:

  1. Bank statement should be till date with stamp and sign on each page.
  2. Please wear dark colour clothes while clicking photo.
  3. All documents from Thailand need to be submitted with Original Sign & Sign of Thai Company. (Also For Form 50, Form 30, Form 20, DBD Papers and list of shareholders copies needs to have original stamp and sign by Thai Company). Form 50 to be submitted for Year 2563 – 2564 , Form 30 to be submitted for Year 2563, DBD Papers to be submitted for Year 2563 , shareholder lists to be submitted for Year 2563

Rules & Regulations

Thailand Visa Terms & Conditions
  1. Visa application fee is non-refundable in all cases, including visa application rejection.

  2. In case a visitor overstays, overstaying penalty will be charged as per the Thailand Embassy.

  3. Visa application will only be accepted after the verification of all required documents and receipt of the complete payment.

  4. All visas are issued as multiple-entry e-visas and are valid for entry within 30 days from the date of issuance.

  5. Applicants issued Thailand tourist or business visa are not eligible to work in Thailand during their stay.

  6. Once accepted, visa processing will take a minimum 3 working days (This excludes the day of submission, weekends and public holidays as per Thailand’s calendar). Visa application approval and processing time is at the sole discretion of the Thailand Embassy.

  7. Oxford Travels reserves the right to refuse applications at its discretion and bears no liability for the processing time or rejection of visa applications by the Thailand Embassy.

  8. Additional documents may be requested from certain applicants at the discretion of Oxford Travels.

  9. If employed, then an NOC from the employer on the company letterhead is required.

  10. If self-employed, a covering letter on the company letterhead will be required.

  11. Couples on their honeymoon are required to submit their original wedding card. Embassy will not accept scanned or photocopied wedding cards.

  12. If a minor is travelling with a single parent, then an NOC from the other parent is required.

  13. If a minor is travelling with relatives, then an NOC from both the parents is required.

  14. Other documents required for minor applicants: Bank statements of parents , Student Identity card of the minor travelling

  15. If the passport is issued from the state under different location of jurisdiction and applicant is staying for more than 6 months in Delhi, Chennai or Bengaluru – 2 government address proofs:
  • Lease & license Agreement 
  • A letter on company letterhead mentioning the residential address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Indians need a visa for Thailand?
Indian citizens do not need a visa to visit Thailand. Still, as of May 1, 2025, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is mandatory for all Indian travellers entering Thailand and must be completed online before arrival.​      
What are the Thailand Digital Arrival Card requirements for Indians?

Do Indians need travel insurance to enter Thailand?
No, travel insurance is not mandatory for Indian travellers entering Thailand. 
  • Note: It is generally good to have travel insurance when travelling abroad, as it protects against any unforeseen travel or medical-related financial emergencies.
Do Indians need hotel reservations when travelling to Thailand?
Yes, when travelling to Thailand, proof of accommodation, such as hotel bookings or a letter of invitation, is mandatory. 
Can Indians extend their visa-free stay in Thailand beyond 90 days?
Yes, Indians can easily extend their visa-free stay by 30 days. You must apply for the extension at a local Thai immigration office before your initial 90-day stay expires.
What happens if I overstay in Thailand?

Overstaying in Thailand is a legal violation, and you will be fined a minimum of ₹1,260 per day, which is capped at ₹50,240.* Overstays exceeding 90 days may result in deportation and blacklisting from future travel to Thailand.

  • * Note: The overstay fine is calculated in Thai Baht, so the exact amount in Indian Rupees may vary based on the exchange rate at the time of payment.

Can I work in Thailand during my visa-free stay?
No, working in Thailand without a valid work permit is illegal, even under the Visa Exemption Program. If you plan to work, you must obtain a Non-Immigrant B visa before travelling to the country.
Do Indians need a visa to Thailand for purposes other than tourism (e.g., work, study)?
Indians planning to work, study, or do business in Thailand must apply for the appropriate Non-Immigrant visa before travelling. This requires submitting extra documentation, such as sponsorship letters, contracts, or enrollment letters (depending on the purpose of your visit) at the embassy. 

  • Note: For urgent or ad-hoc work in Thailand under the visa-free regime (such as organizing a workshop, giving a lecture, or filming a movie), you only need to notify the registrar at an airport or local immigration office. The work must be completed within 15 days.
Do Indians need a transit visa to pass through Thailand?
No, if your layover is less than 12 hours and you stay within the international transit area without clearing immigration, you do not need a transit visa. However, if your layover exceeds 12 hours or you plan to leave the transit area, you must obtain the appropriate visa or fill out the TDAC accordingly. 
What happens if I forget to complete the TDAC before arrival?
Failing to submit the TDAC in advance may cause delays at immigration and could result in denied entry. It’s strongly advised to complete it before you travel.
Do children need to fill out a separate TDAC?
Yes. A separate TDAC must be completed for each traveller, including children.
Can I modify, if I make mistakes in TDAC application details?
Once submitted, certain key information cannot be updated, including:

  • Full Name (as it appears in passport)
  • Passport Number
  • Nationality/Citizenship
  • Date of Birth
If you need to modify these details, you may need to submit a new TDAC application.
What is the Validity and Length of Stay for TDAC?
The validity and Length of stay in Thailand for Indians for a single entry are as follows:

  • Validity: 90 days,
  • Length of stay: 90 days.
What is the eligibility criteria for TDAC?
All Indians entering Thailand are required to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before their arrival.
The following ones are exceptions:
  • Indians transiting or transferring in Thailand without going through immigration control
  • Indians entering Thailand using a Border Pass
