Activity Overview

  • National Gallery Singapore is Singapore's premier visual arts museum and is home to the world's largest public collection of modern Singaporean and Southeast Asian art. Located in the heart of the Civic District, the museum is housed within two beautifully restored national monuments—the former City Hall and the former Supreme Court—which have been transformed into a world-class museum.
  • Opened in 2015, the Gallery spans approximately 64,000 square metres and features thousands of artworks dating from the 19th century to the present day. Its permanent collections, rotating exhibitions, educational programmes, and international collaborations showcase the rich artistic heritage and cultural diversity of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
  • Visitors can explore a wide range of galleries featuring paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, and multimedia artworks by renowned regional artists. Beyond the exhibitions, the museum offers guided tours, interactive spaces, cafés, restaurants, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Padang and Marina Bay.
  • The Gallery's architecture is an attraction in itself, combining historic colonial-era buildings with contemporary glass-and-steel design. Its iconic atriums, courtyards, and rooftop spaces create a unique setting where history, architecture, and art come together.
  • Overall, National Gallery Singapore is one of Singapore's top cultural attractions, offering an inspiring journey through the history, creativity, and artistic achievements of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
