Activity Policies
  1. Visitors must follow the instructions of Château de Versailles staff and respect the gardens and historic surroundings.
  2. Visitors should not pick flowers, damage plants, climb trees or enter restricted areas.
  3. Bicycles, scooters and other personal mobility equipment are subject to designated areas and applicable rules.
  4. Pets are generally not permitted in the gardens, except under specific authorized conditions.
  5. Visitors must keep the gardens clean and use designated bins for waste.
  6. Picnics are permitted only in designated areas.
  7. During special events, weather conditions or maintenance, certain areas may be temporarily closed or access may be restricted.
  8. Visitors are responsible for supervising children and following all safety instructions.
Terms & Conditions
  1. Garden Access: Access to the Gardens is generally free on ordinary days. From April to October, admission is charged on days when the Fountain Shows or Musical Gardens are held.
  2. Valid Ticket: On paid-access days, visitors must have the appropriate Gardens, Fountain Show, Musical Gardens or Passport ticket.
  3. Security Checks: Visitors and their belongings may be subject to security checks at the entrances.
  4. Large Luggage: Large baggage exceeding the permitted dimensions is not allowed inside the Estate.
  5. Visitor Conduct: Visitors must respect the gardens, fountains, sculptures, trees, plants and other heritage features and follow staff instructions.
  6. Animals: Dogs and other animals are not permitted in the Gardens. Dogs may be permitted in the Park subject to the applicable rules and must be kept on a lead.
  7. Bicycles: Bicycles are not permitted inside the Gardens but may be used in the Park.
  8. Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Gardens and throughout the Estate's Park, except in the specifically permitted area of ​​the Honor Courtyard.
  9. Food & Drinks: Food and drinks are subject to the Estate's visitor regulations and designated areas. Visitors must not leave litter or damage the grounds.
  10. Photography & Equipment: Flash photography, tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited in the museum areas. Visitors must follow any photography restrictions applicable to specific areas or events.
  11. Opening & Access Changes: Garden access, entrances and opening times may vary because of events, weather, maintenance, security or other exceptional circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, except where otherwise expressly provided by the Château de Versailles.
Once purchased, tickets generally cannot be canceled or modified by the visitor.
Tickets are valid only for the date and time indicated on the reservation, where a timed entry applies.
If the Château de Versailles cancels the visit or closes the relevant area, refund arrangements are handled according to the applicable official terms.
Temporary closure of certain gardens, fountains, groves, or attractions does not necessarily entitle visitors to a full ticket refund.
