Activity Policies
- Entry: Seventy-Five Mile Beach is a major coastal area of K’gari (Fraser Island) and forms part of the protected national park. Applicable Queensland Parks access and vehicle permit requirements apply.
- Booking: No booking is generally required for independent beach access. Advance booking is recommended for guided 4WD tours and organised experiences.
- Opening Hours: Beach access is subject to park conditions, tides, weather, and temporary closures.
- Duration: Visitors can spend 1–3 hours or longer exploring the beach, depending on their itinerary and planned stops.
- 4WD Access: The beach is a designated 4WD route. Drivers must follow speed limits, traffic rules, designated access areas, and current beach-driving conditions.
- Tides: Travel is strongly influenced by tide times. Visitors should plan journeys around suitable tidal conditions and never attempt to drive through unsafe water.
- Swimming: Swimming in the ocean is not recommended because of strong currents, marine wildlife, changing surf conditions, and other hazards.
- Photography: Photography and video recording are generally permitted for personal use. Visitors should maintain a safe distance from wildlife.
- Wildlife: Visitors must not feed or approach wongari (dingoes) or other wildlife. Food, rubbish, and other attractants must be securely stored.
- Accessibility: Access is primarily through 4WD vehicles, and beach conditions can vary considerably with tides, sand, weather, and vehicle traffic.
- Safety: Visitors should remain alert to changing beach conditions, follow park warnings, carry sufficient water, and avoid stopping in unsafe locations.
- Weather Conditions: Strong winds, storms, heavy rain, rough seas, or high tides may affect access and driving conditions.
- Environmental Protection: Visitors must not litter, disturb wildlife, damage vegetation, or remove natural materials from the beach.
- Cancellation/Refund: General beach access has no cancellation policy. Paid tours or activities are subject to the respective operator's cancellation and refund conditions.
- Changes to Access: Sections of the beach may be temporarily restricted or closed due to tides, erosion, severe weather, wildlife management, road conditions, or safety requirements.
- Important: Seventy-Five Mile Beach is one of K’gari's most iconic coastal routes, known for its long sandy shoreline, dramatic scenery, marine wildlife, and 4WD touring opportunities. Visitors should check current park alerts and tide conditions before travelling.

- Access is subject to the current K’gari national park regulations and beach-driving conditions.
- Visitors must follow the instructions of Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service rangers, tour guides and authorised personnel.
- Vehicles must comply with applicable 4WD, permit, beach-access and road-safety requirements.
- Drivers must observe the posted speed limits and current beach-driving rules.
- Drivers must take account of tides, surf, weather, sand conditions and other vehicles when travelling along the beach.
- Visitors should not drive or walk through closed, restricted or unsafe areas.
- Swimming is not recommended in many areas because of strong currents, marine hazards and changing surf conditions. Visitors should follow local safety warnings.
- Visitors must not approach, feed, chase or deliberately disturb dingoes or other wildlife.
- Food and rubbish should be securely stored to avoid attracting wildlife.
- Littering, vandalism and damage to dunes, vegetation or other natural features are prohibited.
- Visitors must not remove sand, shells, rocks, plants or other natural materials where prohibited.
- Camping is permitted only at authorised camping areas and subject to applicable permits and conditions.
- Fires are permitted only where specifically authorised and must comply with current fire restrictions.
- Children must remain under the supervision of an accompanying adult, particularly near the ocean and active vehicle areas.
- Visitors should carry adequate drinking water, sun protection and suitable footwear, as facilities can be limited along remote sections of the beach.
- Photography for personal use is generally permitted, subject to wildlife and site-specific restrictions.
- Commercial photography, professional filming or organised photo shoots may require prior permission.
- Sections of the beach or access routes may be temporarily closed because of tides, erosion, flooding, severe weather, conservation work, fire danger or safety concerns.
- Visitors are responsible for their personal belongings and safety.
- Guided 4WD tours and other organised activities may have separate booking, cancellation and refund conditions.
- Cancellation and refund conditions depend on the specific tour, vehicle hire or activity booked.
- If Seventy-Five Mile Beach is included in an organised K’gari tour, the tour operator's cancellation and refund policy will apply.
- If a tour is cancelled or the itinerary is modified due to tides, weather, beach conditions, park closures or safety requirements, refund or alternative arrangements will be handled according to the operator's terms.
- Late arrival or failure to join a booked tour may result in loss of the booking without refund, subject to the provider's conditions.
Cancellation Policy
Seventy-Five Mile Beach is a natural public beach on K’gari (Fraser Island) and does not require an admission ticket or reservation for general sightseeing. Therefore, no separate cancellation or refund policy applies to visiting the beach. If the beach visit is included as part of a 4WD tour, guided excursion, ferry service, or travel package, the cancellation and refund conditions of the respective booking or service provider will apply.
