  9. Access may be restricted or changed due to parliamentary business, security requirements, maintenance or special events.
Terms & Conditions
  1. Valid Ticket: Visitors must have a valid ticket, invitation or official confirmation where required for their visit. Most tours can be booked online in advance.
  2. Security Screening: All visitors and their belongings must pass through airport-style security screening before entering Parliament. Additional searches may be conducted when necessary.
  3. Visitor Pass: Visitors may be issued a visitor pass, which must be worn visibly throughout the visit and returned when leaving.
  4. Restricted Items: Weapons and certain prohibited items are not permitted. Knives, scissors, tools, banners, placards and some open food or liquids may need to be surrendered at security for collection on departure.
  5. Luggage: There is no general cloakroom. Luggage larger than 60 × 40 cm is not permitted inside Parliament.
  6. Visitor Conduct: Visitors must behave respectfully, follow instructions from parliamentary staff and security personnel, and must not interfere with parliamentary business.
  7. Photography: Personal photography is permitted in Westminster Hall, St Stephen’s Hall and the visitor area of New Palace Yard. Photography is restricted in other areas and public galleries.
  8. Filming: Filming and photography for wider publication or commercial purposes generally require prior permission. Tripods are not permitted.
  9. Mobile Phones: Mobile phones should be switched to silent during tours and must not disturb parliamentary proceedings or other visitors.
  10. Food & Drinks: Eating and drinking are restricted to designated areas, such as the Jubilee Café.
  11. Children: Children must remain under the supervision of their accompanying adults and follow all security and visitor instructions.
  12. Accessibility: UK Parliament provides accessibility facilities for visitors with disabilities and other access needs. Step-free entry is available at the Cromwell Green visitor entrance.
  13. Animals: Assistance dogs are permitted and must remain on a lead. Visitors should contact the visitor services team in advance where possible.
  14. Restricted Areas: Visitors may only enter areas included in their tour or otherwise open to the public. Operational areas and areas requiring parliamentary authorization must not be entered.
  15. Changes & Closures: Access, tours and visitor routes may be changed or restricted because of parliamentary business, security requirements, maintenance, events or other operational circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
 Tickets for visits to the Houses of Parliament are generally non-refundable once purchased. Subject to availability and the applicable booking conditions, tickets may be exchanged for an alternative date or time. If a visit is cancelled by UK Parliament or the building is closed, visitors may be offered an alternative visit or a refund. Late arrival or non-attendance does not normally qualify for a refund.
