Activity Overview

Grand-Place of Brussels is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and is often considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Located in the historic heart of Brussels, the square is surrounded by magnificent Gothic, Baroque, and historic architectural façades, including the impressive City of Brussels Town Hall and the King’s House (Broodhuis).

Visitors can admire the spectacular 15th-century Gothic Town Hall, historic guild houses, the King’s House, ornate façades, and beautiful architectural details while experiencing the rich heritage of Brussels. The square began as a marketplace in the 12th century and was almost completely rebuilt after the bombardment of 1695, giving it much of the appearance seen today.

The experience is enhanced by festive events, concerts, folklore celebrations, Christmas decorations, sound and light shows, and the famous Flower Carpet during summer, making the Grand-Place a memorable highlight of any Brussels and Europe tour with Oxford Travels.
